Replace your worn-out Bose QC45 headband pad with a compatible PU leather cushion. Follow these steps to restore comfort and support.

Quick answer

Replace your Bose QC45 headband pad with a compatible PU leather cushion from Brainwavz to restore original comfort and support. The swap takes about 10 minutes with basic tools.

Why replace the headband pad

Over time, the original headband padding on Bose QC45, QCSC, and QC Wireless headphones compresses, loses its cushioning, and can collect sweat and odors. A fresh pad not only feels more comfortable but also helps the headset sit securely on your head, improving sound isolation and long-wear comfort.

Compatibility note

The Brainwavz replacement headband is designed specifically for Bose QC45, QCSC, and QC Wireless models. It will not fit other brands or models, so double-check your headset model before ordering.

How to replace the Bose QC45 headband pad

  1. Remove the old headband pad: Gently peel the worn pad away from the plastic headband arch. It is held on by adhesive strips and clips. Work slowly to avoid damaging the headband. If the old adhesive is stubborn, use a plastic spudger or old credit card to separate it without scratching the plastic.
  2. Clean the headband surface: Wipe the exposed plastic arch with a soft cloth and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to remove residue, dust, and oils. Let it dry completely. A clean surface ensures the new pad's adhesive bonds firmly and won't lift during use.
  3. Align and attach the new headband pad: Peel the backing from the adhesive on the new Brainwavz PU leather headband. Center it over the headband arch, then press firmly from the center outward to eliminate air bubbles. Check alignment before pressing down—once the adhesive contacts the plastic, repositioning is difficult.
  4. Secure the edges and clips: Run your fingers along the edges to ensure full adhesion. If the pad has retaining clips, snap them into place along the underside of the headband. Loose edges can catch on hair or clothing. Press each clip until you hear a click.
  5. Let the adhesive set: Leave the headset unused for at least 30 minutes so the adhesive cures fully. Avoid bending or stretching the pad during this time. Skipping this step may cause the pad to shift or peel off prematurely during wear.
